Bowling Green Youth Hockey

The Bowling Green Youth Hockey Association is open to any boy or girl between the ages of 4 and 18.  The player’s age as of January 1st  determines the division they will participate in.

BGYHA will continue to offer USA Hockey’s Initiation Program for the 4-5 year old players.  This program teaches participants the skills needed to play hockey in a noncompetitive, learning environment. Through practices and drills, participants will learn stick handling, puck control, shooting and skating. There will be a major emphasis on skating, as it is the basic skill to the sport.

An informational meeting designed especially for the first year parents and players will take place prior to the start of the season. Once your registration is received, you will be placed on our mailing list, which will enable you to receive our newsletters and any other information regarding meetings and other pertinent information. After a short presentation, equipment needs will be explained and Board members will be available to answer any questions about the youth hockey program. Due to the size of our program and the limited available ice time, it may be necessary to limit the number of new players we can accept. We will take new players on a first-come, first served basis.  A used equipment sale will be held in early September at the BGSU Ice Arena.

The Bowling Green Youth Hockey Program provides young people in our area a winter-long recreational program that will expose players to good sportsmanship, healthy exercise, concepts of team play, and a sense of accomplishment as they develop and improve upon their individual hockey skills.

Coaches are needed for the season. If you are interested in coaching please contact a Board Member.
